Your private guide will greet you at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and transport you to your accommodation in Arusha to enjoy a good night's rest after a long journey.

Wake to magnificent views of beautiful Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa's tallest peak and the world's tallest free-standing mountain. Embark on your African safari adventure after breakfast by driving southwest toward Tarangire National Park. Second only to Serengeti, this famous park has the greatest concentration of wildlife in all of Tanzania. In the dry season, the Tarangire River is a magnet for thirsty wildlife, when large herds of elephants and migratory wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, impala, gazelle, hartebeest and eland gather. Not surprisingly, predators follow. The park is also known for its spectacular baobab trees and its breathtaking views of the Maasai Steppe. After arrival to your lodging, receive cultural orientation from local Red Rhino Tours and Red Sweater Project staff members. Enjoy a traditional African sundowner as you experience your first sunset over the Great Rift Valley escarpment.

Spend time interacting with students, staff and community members at the Mungere School, a successful development education project in Mungere Village which sits in the heart of an East African tribal community rich in history and tradition. Engage in a hosting soccer clinics for local athletes, participate in student activities and athletics, participate in a service project, or contribute in the classroom. Hike to nearby waterfalls on the Great Rift Valley escarpment, tour a student’s family home, dance at a tribal ceremony, and visit the village market – all while taking in the sights, smells and sounds of local life

Tuesday, February 18
Pick up from your lodge after breakfast and drive through the Conservation Area, descending into the Ngorongoro Crater, a geological marvel boasting several vegetation zones from lakes to forest to savannah. A UNESCO World Heritage site, it is home to both semi-nomadic Maasai pastoralists and over 30,000 fauna, having coexisted for centuries despite the crater's tiny size of only 10 miles in diameter. Continue game driving as you head toward the heart of Tanzania's bush outback, the plains of the Serengeti.

After breakfast at your accommodation in Serengeti and final morning game drive, travel to Seronera airstrip to catch your flight to Zanzibar Airport. Upon arrival, you'll take private transport to the Mnarani Beach Cottages. Spend the afternoon surrounded by the lush tropical gardens, take a dip in the swimming pool, and relax at the private beach on the Indian Ocean await you to relax and unwind.

Spend the next three days basking in true island style: opt to sunbathe, swim, float, snorkel, or scuba - relaxing and playing your days away. Fill your evenings with sunset cruises, the tastes of freshly caught and prepared Indian Ocean seafood fare and the sounds of African music. Full Moon parties are also a staple here, featuring local traditional dance troupes and acrobatic performances.

SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK & CENTRAL SERENGETI (SERONERA) This pristine sanctuary will give you a glimpse into “the world as it was in the beginning,” with some of the best game-viewing all of Africa has to offer. Each year, more than four million wildebeest, zebra and Thomson's gazelle undertake the largest land migration on the planet. Tanzania's first and most famous park, the Serengeti is also renowned for its leopard, lion, cheetah and black rhino.

TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK Only second to Serengeti, Tarangire National Park has the greatest concentration of wildlife in Tanzania. In the dry season, large herds of elephants and migratory wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, impala, gazelle, hartebeest and eland gather at the Tarangire River. The park is known for its spectacular baobab trees, breathtaking views of the Maasai Steppe, and the mountains to the south.

NGORONGORO CRATER CONSERVATION AREA & THE CRATER FLOOR Enjoy wildlife game viewing at the Ngorongoro Crater, a World Heritage Site and geological marvel. The world's largest inactive, intact and unfilled volcanic caldera consists of several vegetation zones and is home to about 30,000 animals, despite its tiny size. It is also home to Olduvai Gorge, where paleoanthropologists Louis and Mary Leakey discovered the remains of homo habilis, the first known ancestors of modern humankind.

LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK At the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, the scenery inside Lake Manyara National Park is as stunning as the exotic wildlife. Known for its flamingos and tree-climbing lions, plentiful herds of elephants, water buffalo, giraffe, and zebra, it is also home to the mysterious leopard.

MUNGERE VILLAGE & THE MUNGERE SCHOOL Enjoy an authentic East African experience in Mungere Village, a tribal community centrally located amid the northern safari circuit. Guests can interact with students, staff and community members at the Mungere School, while witnessing a successful, locally-driven development education project in action. With an array of activities and eye-opening experiences available, visitors can participate in service projects with local volunteer staff and students and join football (soccer), volleyball or basketball games. Hike to nearby waterfalls on the Great Rift Valley escarpment, and visit the school's friendly neighbors by taking a village home tour lead by Mungere's tri-lingual students. Be sure to take time to enjoy the local life around you, taking in the unique sights, smells and sounds of village life.

ZANZIBAR, PEMBA & MAFIA ISLANDS An archipelago rich in history and tropical beauty, Tanzania's off-shore islands are still a secret destination to many. The largest at 51 miles long, Zanzibar's white sandy beaches stretch her entire length. Majestic turquoise waters are perfect for swimming, sailing, water sports, or snorkeling and scuba diving in coral reefs. From spice tours in the busy city of Stone Town to the port's fish market, with great seafood and an active nightlife, the islands are a great place to begin or complete any African adventure.

MOUNT KILIMANJARO
Standing at 19,341 feet, Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest peak on the continent. Mount Kilimanjaro is composed of three volcanic cones, two of which are extinct. Trek through diverse vegetation zones on this official route to the snow-capped summit, and enjoy the view of the plains along your multi-day trip. At the summit, take in the feeling of accomplishment—and the breathtaking view from the roof of Africa.
