Embark on your African safari adventure after breakfast by heading into Lake Manyara National Park. At the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, the scenery is as stunning as the exotic wildlife, including the park’s famous tree-climbing lions. Plentiful herds of elephants, water buffalo, giraffe, zebra, and the mysterious leopard are found around this lake, covering 89 square miles. With over 10,000 in number, Tanzania boasts more bird species than any other country in Africa, including flamingos, pelicans, vultures, and various cranes.
Overnight: Wildlife Manyara Luxury Lodge or similar (full board)

Pick up from the lodge after breakfast and drive through Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area to Olduvai Gorge to see the famous work of paleoanthropologists, Louis and Mary Leakey and their many discoveries in the region, including the remains of homo habilis, the first known ancestors of modern humankind at over 2.3 million years old. Continue game driving to the heart of Tanzania’s outback by heading west, toward the Serengeti Plains.

Spend the next two days in the center of Serengeti, home to millions of ungulates. This pristine and unique sanctuary will give you a glimpse into “the world as it was in the beginning.” Relish the vastness of the serengeti, “the land that flows on forever,” coupled with some of the best game-viewing all of Africa has to offer. Standing at 19,341 feet, Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest peak on the continent. Mount Kilimanjaro is composed of three volcanic cones, two of which are extinct. Trek through diverse vegetation zones on this official route to the snow-capped summit, and enjoy the view of the plains along your multi-day trip. At the summit, take in the feeling of accomplishment—and the breathtaking view from the roof of Africa.
